The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) held a re-examination for the 70th Combined Competitive Prelims (CCE) on January 4, 2025, specifically for candidates who had previously appeared at Patna's Bapu Examination Centre on December 13, 2024. This re-test was necessitated by the cancellation of the earlier exam amid allegations of a paper leak, which had sparked protests and required police intervention on December 25.
In preparation for the re-exam, BPSC issued admit cards to 12,012 candidates. However, only 8,111 candidates downloaded their admit cards, and of those, just 5,943 ultimately attended the examination. The re-exam was conducted across 22 centers in Patna, and BPSC reported that the process was carried out smoothly, without any incidents of misconduct.
The significant drop in attendance—from over 12,000 registered candidates to fewer than 6,000 actual participants—raises questions about the candidates' confidence in the examination process and the impact of the previous cancellation on their preparedness and morale.
For more detailed information, candidates and interested parties can refer to the official BPSC website.
